How can I restore ICal events from my IPhone to MobileMe?  I have tried the Time Machine restore method several times and it works for about 5 seconds and then all of the events disappear before my eyes.

I would recommend that you disable MobileMe sync.  Restore the calendar from your time machine backup, then re-enable the MobileMesync.  You should be prompted with what you want to do with the data and there is an option to say overwrite the Calendar entries on Mobile Me with the ones on your mac.

Providing you don't use more than 1 entire account for MobileMe it should be ok.

I hope this helps.
