I thought about putting the code there but apprently we don't need to click the save button to save my information , I can use the next or previous record button and it will do the same things. so I will have to put my code in every different instence of every buttons

You're right. Unfortunately, the form calls a Dexterity procedure called "SaveRecord" which saves the trx, and Dex procedures cannot be overloaded with Pre or Post events, so you need to track the user's clicks on the navigation buttons in the window footer, and the Save button. Not to forget the Close button also, which is the Window_BeforeClose event.

Why don't you save the field once the user leaves the field Field_LostFocus?

Well in the way that's what I have right now , so maybe I should leave it this way , but write the proper code for the delete. my concern was for the delete option or the actually clear button which will clear the form. I guess I leave it there for now and we will see what is going on on the delete part.
Thanks
