This works ok for me:
strSQL = "CREATE INDEX key_1 ON  MUT01 (MutNewkey)"
 dbconn.Execute (strSQL)

but what would be the syntax for a key wich has to be (now I created by hand) segmented?

strSQL = "CREATE INDEX key_2 ON  MUT01 (MutKlant, MutBoek, MutDate)"

Full syntax of CREATE INDEX is at http://docs.pervasive.com/products/database/psqlv11/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=sqlref/syntaxref.3.22.html
