Why does my laptop flash a white screen after boot up just after Windows 7 loads? It's so Socratic, I can't narrow it down. It will hang up on a white screen then check for start up errors but in never finds any. I disk cleaned up and defragged and ran the last windows update. That seemed to work then I unplugged the lap top and ran off the battery only and it gave me the white screen.  As soon as I plug it in, it goes away.  The battery is fully charged, the laptop is 3 months old Toshiba Satellite L675

Thank you

Sounds like its a power utility, probably from toshiba. Download autoruns from sysinternals and look what power services toshiba is starting. Turn these off and reboot to see if this is the issue. The seond spot to check would be the event log.
