A friend sent me a bunch of files that are bc! files and I wanted to know what they are and how to play them?

umm, these could be incomplete bittorrent files, with the !

you could try renaming to AVI, and trying playing them in VLC media player.

I tried renaming them to .AVI, but it did not work.

are you sure they are complete, because the ! seems to indicate they are not complete.
