Open public folder management and ensure the Offline address book and it's subfolders (OAB version x) are listed as having a replica on your E2k10 PF server.

MegaNuk3Commented:
Is this a clean E2k10 install or are you migrating / transitioning from an earlier version?

Is your E2k10 server listed as the OAB generating server?

Did you check the OAB replicas?

PsagotAuthor Commented:
In the public folder management the replication for oab 2, 3a and 4 was only for the old exchange 2003 server so ive added the exch2010 server. How can I check if it replicated secuessfully?

MegaNuk3Commented:
Since your E2k10 server is the OAB generating server it should be able to populate those PF folders now.

On E2k10 EMS do:
Get-offlineaddresslist | update-offlineaddresslist

Then watch the Application event logs for Oab errors

still errors:

MegaNuk3Commented:
Please run the above command and verify you are still seeing the same error in the application event log.
Check the Offline Address List in the EMC and confirm the Exchange 2010 server is listed as the generating server.

if it helps,  I have also checked outlook 2007 address book download and i see it manages to download the oab but its outdated (4/11/2010) and the files in :
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ExchangeOAB - are outdated too (4/11/2010).

web distribution is enabled in the offline address book tab.

MegaNuk3Commented:
Turn off PF distribution, tell the OAB to update, wait 15 minutes and then restart msexchangeFDS on the CAS server and see if the web files get updated

PsagotAuthor Commented:

Yep, the Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service. Are the web files still not updated? Are you getting OAB generation errors still?
0

MegaNuk3Commented:
Have a look in the security log for errors at the same time as the 36870 event
0

MegaNuk3Commented:
How often does that 36780 event occur? You can try starting the "Protected Storage" service and see if the event stops.

PsagotAuthor Commented:
I've manage to solve the problem. In the public folder management I've deleted oab2,3 and 4 from the database which caused the exchange to recreate them after the an offline address book update.

anyways, thnx alot for your help!

Don't forget to turn on PF distribution again (if you haven't already) and ensure the web files are now being updated too.

Is outlook 2003 now able to download the address book without issue?

PsagotAuthor Commented:
yes outlook 2003 works fine now
