Saving username and passwords in ie8 on Windows 7
I can not get usernames and passwords to save in internet explorer 8 on Windows 7. I have the autocomplete settings checked, but no luck. Does anybody have an idea of how to make it work?
Perhaps IE needs to be repaired. In Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, do a Reset. This does reset all options, but it may fix the above issue. ... Thinkpads_User

It did not.
Try the following:
(a) See if safe mode works. Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator. Then type iexplore -extoff. This opens IE in safe mode. It may be an add-in causing the issue and safe mode stops add-ins from loading. Does this work.
(b) Also in an administrative command prompt, run SFC /SCANNOW . This corrects protected files. Does this help?
Also scan for viruses as malware can cause issues.

Thank You thinkpads. I came across a free program called RoboForm. It is probably not the best answer for my problem, but it was the easiest. It created a toolbar that stores the logins. Thanks again.
