How to make iTunes not change manually added/edited playlist in iPhone

I have put iTunes to manually manage my songs and checked these settings:
"Sync only checked songs and videos"
"Manually manage music and videos"

However, whenever I sync my iPhone with my iTunes then it delete all the playlist I added from my iPhone as well as it reset the playlist which I edited from my iPhone.

How to make iTunes not mess with the playlist I added/edited directly from my iPhone?

iTunes will only sync from PC to Phone, it will not sync the other way around.

So there is no way to prevent this. Maybe in later version Apple will fix this,
But for now: Edit your playlists in iTunes instead, or if your playlist isn't too big, you can re-create those playlist on your PC before resyncing the iPhone.

So what's the effect of choosing manually manage and sync only checked songs? Doesn't that mean that iTunes should only add/delete songs when I manually add them?

Also I'm wondering what's the use of allowing users to edit playlist in their iPhone which will automatically get reset when connected with iTunes?

The Manually Manage and Sync only Checked Songs: Use this setting if you have A LOT of songs and do not want iTunes to automatically fill up your iPod will Random songs from your iTunes Library.

When you select this option, you go into Music, and select the Songs, & Playlist you want to Sync..  Everytime you connect to your PC, it will do exactly that.

I think the Edit Playlist is a new feature and not mature enough.  Its a new feature with IOS 4
