Wordpress - switching off author data

Hi

I'm probably missing something obvious but I'm using a Wordpress theme which contains a sidebar on the Home page template. The documentation states: -

"Homepage Sidebar: Appears on the home page template. Size is 470px wide. It is only active if the author data is off from your theme options area."

Needless to say - how do you turn off the author data? I cannot find it in the normal Wordpress settings...

(The theme is iFocus on mojo-themes.com).

Most themes have their options set in the wp-admin using the navigation: Appearance > Theme Options (or maybe different wording for iFocus).

Since it's a pay theme I can't stick it on a site quick to check that, but they show a screenshot of the theme options on the demo at the site you gave above. So I would check under the Appearance menu tab - that's the most common place.

Thank you for your quick response.

Before I close, is there any way in the general Wordpress settings to switch off the visibility of date and other metadata in posts?

I want to use images in posts on the homepage but dont want the posts looking like posts...if you see what I mean! :)

No, there isn't a simple setting to turn that off. You would need to edit the theme files to remove it. If your homepage is showing posts, it's probably in the index.php file.
But being a pay theme, are you able to see code in the files or does it show encryption? I see on the site it says to get in touch with them if you need customizations, so you might not be able to edit the theme yourself. You should be able to tell quickly if you check the files under Appearance > Editor.
