Lotus Notes Mail Database Maintenance

At this point the mail databases in our place don't have any kind of limitation, so I have a few questions on how to maintain it:
1. I am getting ready to set up a quota for each user mail database but on the Domino Admin I noticed there is a column called Max Size and the current value is 'No Limit'. Is there a way to change that or it is okay to leave it alone as long as I set the quota?

2. If I set up the quota and warning, will it email user when they reach the threshold limit and quota limit?

3. Is there a way to change the quota and warning setting for all the users without having to go to each mail database to change the setting?

1. If you are using quotas, you do not need to set a maximum database size. You could set the size limit to make sure it records an event in the server log, if that is what you want, but it would be for informational purposes only.
2. No, unless you enable the sending of notifications in the Configuration Settings > Router/SMTP > Advanced for "Quota warning notification" and "Quota error notification. If you do not specifically enable these, the user will get a pop-up message in the client when (s)he reaches the warning level. When the actual quota is reached and the user attempts to send a message, (s)he will get a pop-up that the mail will be sent but that a copy cannot be saved to Sent Items because the quota has been reached.

Sometimes a user still gets to send and save even when over the quote if there is some unused space in the database from recent deletions. The quota does not actually stop sending and receiving, it only prevents the user from adding elements, such as new subfolders.

3. In Domino Admin > Files tab, you can highlight several/all mailboxes and then in the right task panel select Database > Quota to change them all at the same time.
