Creating an external Distribution List

I have a client that wants to create a distribution list for Patients. He wants to be able to send the same email to everyone on this list (ex: info on seminars, informative email, etc). I know that I can create a mail enabled contact for these people but that would require a lot of time entering and babysitting. Is there a better way I can create such a list? FYI, He also doesn't want his email showing up in the "From:" field when he sends to the list. Having a mail-enabled public folder as the return address would be ideal. If I can't do it with Exchange, I am open to exploring 3rd party software.

I don't think an Exchange distribution group is what you would want here.  A distribution group is for people on the inside of you organization so that members on the outside can send to people internally.  Think sales@companyx.com.

I think what you should be looking at is a external service that does this very well.  It sounds like you want to build a list of patients email to send information to them.  Have you looked at www.mailchimp.com?
