Which updates required to install internet explorer 8.0 on windows xp ??

i want to install internet explorer 8.0 on windows xp, but how can i install ??
when i m trying to install it gives me an error ...

what can i do ??

give me some suggestions ....

Have you tried to install Windows XP SP3 ? IE8 should be there :)

It requires SP2 minimum.   See http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/support/system-requirements.aspx

But as said earlier what error messages are you getting?

What Service Pack are you running of Windows XP?

In Control Panel look at System and see what version it is.

Download directly from microsoft giving link
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=341c2ad5-8c3d-4347-8c03-08cdecd8852b

download and install. Make sure u r not downloading anything while installing IE8.

If still having problem then download Windows Installer 3.1. Install it first then try to install IE8

Also why do you not just use Windows Update Service to patch your machine up to date? Including the install of IE8.
