hello

i want to create a mirrored drive on my mac osx snow leopard.  i have an external drive which i would like to use to mirror the on board primary hard disk.

what is the best way to do this?  as the built in utility says it will have to wipe both drives in order to create a mirrored raid setup.

thank you

If you don't want to wipe the drives to set up mirroring, you can use a tool like Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable clone of the drive. It can also be scheduled to occur multiple times per day.
