Illigal or just a Loophole? Or will it work at all?

Can I install a licensed piece of software on a Virtual Machine and when it's free trial expires just recreate the virtual machine/software installation to extend the free trial?

that is actually illegal. though most software won't actually check if it's running in a VM, it shall not be done.
