SSRS: The selected report is not ready for viewing.

This morning, SSRS is suddenly throwing error:

The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady)

There are no report snapshots or subscriptions in use.

Before anybody posts a link to it, report execution properties are already set to "Render with most recent data" and "Do not cache temporary copies."

I re-deployed a small test report. It throws the same error.

This is a production machine, so a reboot is a last resort- but I'm starting to lean toward trying that.

Anybody got any good ideas?

I wonder if you need to enable another option:
Cache the report. Expire after (minutes)" is checked.

Tried that, too. They've been working without caching for months, anyway.

Fixed it! See: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-IE/sqlreportingservices/thread/18314247-b8e5-421c-a456-20b5d3d4d5d7.

Scroll down to Yao-Jie-Tang's entry. He describes recreating the SSRS virtual directories. This is the fix.

How they got corrupted is a mystery (I suspect one of our infrastructure guys did something, but nobody knowns nuthin'). Since my production SSRS is back up and my phone has stopped ringing, I'm happy.
