I am looking for a VB function that can be used in an Excel 2007 workbook to convert HTML data, retrieved from a database into a cell, into plain text.

It looks like it would, but, if I use the function, I get a compile error: User defined type not defined, for objRegEx As VBScript_RegExp_55.RegExp. It thinks VBScript_RegExp_55.RegExp is a user defined type (I guess)
I have read that the RegEx object comes with IE 5. IE 8 is installed on the same system on which I am using Excel 2007, so assume the RegEx object should be available and am not sure why this compile error is being generated.

Any idea?

Did you add a Visual Basic project reference to: Microsoft VBScript Regular Expressions 5.5 ?

No, I did not. I don't know anything about such requirements. However, I have done that now and everything is working great. Thank you!
