Exhcnage 2003/Outlook 2007 issue.  Users emails will show all at once

I have a user using Outlook 2007 connecting to our Exchange 2003 server.  He is using MAPI w/ cached mode

Every few weeks he won't receive any emails for a few hours, and all of a sudden a ton of emails will pop up at once, like they were stuck in queue.

He says that his Outlook status says connected at the bottom.  Of course we can't test it because it only happens every few weeks.

Any Exchange folks out there ever heard of this?

Its not a networking issue.  He is online the whole time while it happens.

Happen to anyone else? Reinstalled Outlook? Remove cached mode, delete outlookd data file, turn cached back on?

I have heard of it probably a handful of times in the past 2 or 3 years, but its one of those things you can't really troubleshoot because its so intermitted.

I would uninstall and reinstall. Easiest and first step.
