You cannot use the 857 or 877 for a CCENT or CCNA Study. The course is based on 2500 & 2600 series routers – you will pick them up pretty cheap on ebay. Besides 857 and 877 are the biggest POS!

Check out ebay for 2600 series routers and 2950 switches. I recently got 3 2621XM's for $120 each and 3 switches for $90 each. These are only layer 2 switches but that's all that's covered for CCENT and CCNA. If you are planning to do CCNP and further you can look at layer 3 switches later. I'd recommend 3 routers since most of the lab topologies in the study materials use 3, 2 switches is enough to see basic VTP and STP operation but the more you have the more flexible and creative you can be.

Thanks for very good answers. I have one last question. 3 x 3500 series and 3 x 2620xm. How would they connect togheter? I can buy these http://www.finn.no/finn/torget/tilsalgs/bilder?finnkode=26647685 , look at the pictures.
They only have one ethernet port?

Sorry I hit the submit button to soon.  You would connect the AUX port to a modem so you could dial into it over a POTS line. The Console is used to connect the router to a serial port on a computer so you can terminal to the box.

The router model was originally designed to be used in mixed environment between T1, ISDN, and LAN. It was not designed to be in LAN-only environment by default.

You can get the NM-1FE-TX, NM-4E, or NM-1E module. The 1FE is one-Fast-Ethernet-port module, the 4E is four-Ethernet-port module, and the 1E is one-Ethernet-port module. If you look for 100 MBps support, then get the NM-1FE-TX one.
