outlook 2010/exchange 2003 auto accept issue

The issue that my company is running in to is that the auto accept feature that we setup for our conference room is no longer working. It was working fine before we had upgraded to Office 2010. Our email is hosted by another company and it's still on exchange 2003. I've contacted our exchange hosting company and they're basically telling me that we need to upgrade to exchange 2007/2010, but they're not giving me a temporary alternative or why it's happening. I understand there's a difference between "direct booking" (option that sits on the client) and "auto accept" (functions on exchange server)
