Win2000 Driver for HP LaserJet M1319f

I am trying to map a LaserJet M1319f on a Windows 2000 Terminal Server. I tried the driver direct from HP but I cannot install without the printer physically attached. I tried the universal printer but I get an error everytime I try to add the driver. I have tried many other drivers as a substitute but when I print the jobs end up on the users PC in their local queue and disappear without printing.

Does anyone know of a substitute driver for this printer or another way to get this mapped?

Well, the print engine is PCL... have you tried to simply use a HP LaserJet 4 PCL driver in its place?

I meant to type "IF" the print engine is PCL....

Since HP's wonderful specs sheet (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01374960&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3547188&key=null&site=null) speaks nothing to its printer engine.

I have tried Laserjet 2015, 1320, 4, 4si, 5n, 2100 and HP Deskjet. None have worked.

I would begin to suspect that this partictular printer does not have a PCL engine in it and therefore you are at the mercy of the installation software to install the printer driver.

No real solution. Just that it won't work.
