are you installing from an internal dvd drive or external?
ASKER
from the DVD drive internal
I have found this on another site which fixed the issue for a few people. I originally thought it related to another error when installing from an internal dvd drive but now I think not:
1. Load the RAID driver from CD. (Vista driver will work)
2. Install the driver and create partitions.
3. Remove the driver CD and insert the Windows 7 DVD.
4. Click on Refresh and the error should disappear.

After placing 2 4 gig sodimms in the machine the error went away. I tried it on another machine and that too worked. so windows 7 will only load if you have 8 gigs or more of ram on the toshiba m400
