I am looking for a solution to access our email over wifi from our Iphones while in work. There is no problem oince the phones are used externally or over 2g/3g.

I suspect the issue due to the fact the server name mail.xxx.com is not recognised on the local lan as when I replace the server name with the ip address of the server if works fine internally over wifi

Effectively while on the local lan of the server i want to redirect the mail.xxx.com to the ip address of the server 10.0.0.3

thanks

I do this in our corp.  If you have the external DNS setup for the host, say "exchange.mydomain.com", you need to re-create that on internal DNS, which hopefully you have ;)
