Force pdf download rather than open in a browser

I need to download a pdf rather than open it in a browser window.

The reason I need to do this is because the pdf has a 'send by email' button on it which only works from the users PC not online.

<a href="pdfs/set1.pdf"><img src="images/setmenupic.jpg" alt="Set menus" width="203" height="210" border="0" /></a>

Any ideas?

You could zip the .PDF file with 7zip / WinZip, then link to that file. However, the user will have to know how to extract the .PDF file.
