I have been given a  Phillips MT2400 freevent Desktop PC that needs a Clean Install but I do not have any Utilities disc or Recovery data. The PC has XP Media currently installed and I may install windows 7 Ulitmate if it has enough RAM or retain XP if not.
anyway I will still require drivers.
Will Windows 7 find the necessary drivers or are there other alternatives - possibly a source for a set of drivers etc

Might be XP Media Centre rather than straight XP on this box.

Could also be 1 Gb of memory which might limit you.

Motherboard is a ELITEGROUP 915P-M3 (from http://digicenter.net/t328509.html) but ECS don't supply drivers for it as it is specifically made for Philips.

The link above gives a couple of other links which could be for drivers for your motherboard but it doesn't confirm if they were successful or not.

I suspect there are drivers out there.  It is more a matter of confirming them.

What you could do is if you have an XP machine and disk is slipstream the Driver Packs into a new XP disk.

See DriverPacks http://driverpacks.net/

Tutorial http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1449

If you make the new disk that way you'll probably have all the drivers you need.
