Hello I have Dot net nuke running on a hosted server that is running plesk 8.6 for windows at 3essentials hosting.

I am looking to move it from the plesk environment into a clean server 2008 windows installation with no control panel other than iis7.

What is the best way to migrate this from one place to another without headaches.

If you are looking to move a website alone you will need to install IIS on the new server, make sure firewall ports are open, copy the directory to the new server, create a new virtual website that uses that directory. Make sure to set the bindings on the virtual directory to www.doman.com and domain.com using port 80.

On other question, is the website you are moving DNN based? If so you will need to install and configure DNN on the new server. If you need assistance with that let me know.

Ya you should be able to install IIS and SQL, copy the files and DB over, and setup the virtual directory. Make sure you install ASP.NET and .NET framework when you install IIS. Make sure you give proper security rights to to the database and that the connection string in your web.config from your old server will work on the new one.
