This is happenning pretty often when the text message comes 4-5 times in a row.  It's only appear once in the sender's sent Sent folder.

Is that a problem with sender's or recepient?

Multiple users.  Not every time and not from everyone though.

Are you in a rural area?  Were you in a rural when it happens?

if not, I would contact your cell provider, ask them what the deal is.

Despite its humble beginnings, phishing has come a long way since those first crudely constructed emails. Today, phishing sites can appear and disappear in the length of a coffee break, and it takes more than a little know-how to keep your clients secure.

Not in a rural area.  Happens on the move or not.

Would you think this is my device/service or the senders?

you should contact your provider first, bitch up a blue storm, make them convince you it's not their problem while you try to convince them it is.  you might even get a reduction in cost for a month.

I have never had this happen with my service, nor, have I heard of it happening before now.

one other try:  if you can get a phone that is compatible with your cell provider, pop-in the sim and see if the multiple texts follow the sim.  that will address whether or not the phone is the problem.
