Recover deleted items from outlook

All of the emails in our CEO's sent box have disappeared.  I confirmed that I am still within the # of days that Exchange allows me to recover the items.  I go to tools / recover deleted items in Outlook and nothing comes up.  I've found several articles that say you have to change the registry setting values for DumpsterAlwaysOn and have made that registry change.  But nothing still shows when I click on the recover deleted items.  Can anyone help?

ASKER

We just discovered something else.  New emails are also not put in the sent box even though that option is checked in Outlook.

Maybe your local .OST file is corrupt. Try to make a backup of the local .OST file, then remove it and resynchonize your local Outlook with the Exchange server to recreate a new .OST file, then check if the outcoming emails will be put in sent box, and check if you can recover items with Outlook with the method mentioned in your initial post.

If the items cannot be recovered via Outlook, then you need to use a third party tool called

Advanced Outlook Repair

I ended up finding the correct solution.
