Hi.  I am looking to get a copy of CR XI R2.  I see the "developer version" of  CR XI for sale on eBay, but it doesn't say if its R2 or R1 ... If it's R1 can I download some sort of free upgrade to R2, and use the R1 key, or do i need to buy R2 specifically?
Thanks

WHen R2 was released, you could download it and the R1 key was supposed to work.  At this time I think you would be smarter to get R2.

You can download a free trial from Crystal.

Why do you want CR XI?

CR2008 is the newest version and there is a new version going to be out soon.

We have a VB6 app that we can't seem to get working with the free trial of CR2008.   We are successful with the trial of CRXI R2.

CR2008 doesn't support COM applications like VB6.  CR XI is the lasst version that works with VB6.  Either R1 or R2 will work.  Tere is little difference between the 2 as fara as VB6 is concerned.

CR XI R2 was released to handle VS2005 and .Net 2.0.  Otherwise it is the same functionality as CR XI R1

So, as I understand what I'm reading on the internet and in an email from SAP, I can download the trial version of R2, then use the R1 key (that I purchase) to activate the R2 trial version ...

Does that sound right to you?

It did with the original download but I have read questions here indicating that it doesn't always work.

Neither of the two guys (that I've been dealing with) who are selling the software on eBay is sure if it's release R1 or R2, so I'm guessing it's R1.
