Hi,

I would like to use a line chart to create a horizontal line from the same cell value. The only way I can figure out how to do this is to place the same value in many rows and select them as the line charts series. It works but it's cumbersome and I don't like the idea of a whole column dedicated to a redundant value that is in another cell.

Is there a way to tell a line chart to use a single value for x series?

Thanks

Hello,

You only need data in the first and last data point for the line, then set the series to connect empty data points with a line.

Or you could use a XY chart on the secondary axis. See attached for both versions.

If you use a XY Scatter chart instead of a line chart, you could also use a single data point with horizontal error bars to draw the line.

The concept of two graphs one on top of the other works very well. I could not get the graphs to read the series with only two values one at the beginning and one at the end even though you have it in the example you uploaded I could never get it to work. So I just have the complete column full of the the same value - sloppy but it works.

Thanks!
