I am new to Silverlight and Deep Zoom and see a XAP file in the project. I can not open it, so is there a way to view it?

What does it do and how does it work?

Thanks,

The XAP file is bascially your compiled Silverlight app. It is essentially just a ZIP file that contains everything your app needs to be able to run on the client. When the browser accesses your Silverlight app it pulls down the XAP, extracts it and runs.

Is the XAP made by the compiler? Or is there a way I can open it and look at it? Is there anything to see?

It's created by the compiler. If you really want to view its contents just rename it with a ZIP extension and extract it.
