as you mention, labelling and bottling (both fall under packaging) is a major concern for all startups.

in the initial stage, i would suggest that you purchase standard PET or PP or LDPE containers of a suitable shape and size from a bulk distributor.
for the labels, you can go in for digital printing on sticker paper, and paste them on the bottles. - cost per unit is higher, but meant for smaller lots
after the business is more or less stable, you go in for offset printing - cost per unit is very low, but lot size is larger.

if you can post a photograph of your product, mention everything that you have done till date regarding packaging, and your Y1 budget - i think i would be able to help you better.

just FYI, i too have a small startup - just 5 months old, in the field of medicinal plants and medicinal plant extracts....

Thanks, it would be easier to talk to you thru email. Let me gather my thoughts so i can give you a more clear picture. I owned a chain of plant nurserys on the East coast for many years before moving to CA. However the food industry and CA regulations have me a little stumped. Have a good day and i will be in touch soon. Ian
