Remote Desktop Connection (or just Remote Desktop) is different from SaaS.  Remote Desktop allows a person to remotely connect to a Windows PC.  For example, I can connect to my work PC from my home PC using Remote Desktop.  SaaS on the other hand provides a person access to software without having to install anything on their PC.  An example of SaaS would be Zoho, which provides online versions of software packages such as a word processor.
