setup sonicwall nsa 3500 vpn for netbios connectivity

we just got a nsa3500 and we installed the sonicwall vpn client software. We activated the built in VPN connection but our users can not reach our servers on our LAN by their names only the ip addresses and then they cannot access protected folders.

Can someone assist setting up a VPN connection that will allow users to login to our network via sonicwall vpn client  so that they can access the servers and protected shares?

Thanks

i wrote an article on setting up IP for the global vpn client within the sonicwall. i think your DNS issue will be answered within the article.

https://www.experts-exchange.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleID=4160

essentially, within the DHCP scope of whatever is providing IP to your GVC hosts, you need to include an internal DNS server. the article has the sonicwall handing out IP. i've found that this cuts down on duplicating ip assignments between hosts between the GVC hosts and LAN hosts. also, if you have challenges with ip subnets being the same where your GVC hosts connect up, it's easier to change the sonicwall subnet than it is your LAN subnet if you were to have a LAN dhcp server handing out ip.

hope that helps!

There is a checkbox in the preset VPN configuration. I must have missed it. No new VPN instance was needed to be created.
