IPS 4240 signature update

Hi all.
Is there any way for offline signature update without loosing connection? Intefaces are in inline mode. Bypass mode is set to auto. When I update signatures I loose connection which goes through IPS. I think no bypass is applyed and have to wait for engine reload (5-10 minutes). Doing something wrong?

It only worked if I switched manually IPS to bypass.
