reStreaming FM radio over internet !

Hello experts,

I am wondering if there is a way to catch FM channels using a divice and stram it over the internet (yes these radio stations dosen't have web streaming).

I though of connecting a radio to a computer/server but on this situation I will be able to broadcast only one channel while we have about 7.

So, is there a way to do that?

Thanks in advance

First and foremost, you will DEFINITELY want to use at least 7 different computers and have an 8th in line as a spare for the FM-to-audio conversion systems.  Identical hardware would be ideal for this layer.  I would look at the Hauppauge FM tuner card (http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_usbfm.html) for the FM-to-stream conversion, then publish the stream to one or more "clustered" web servers which each serves station-specific web sites with audio stream capability.

Are you actually using analog broadcast equipment?  If you're not, it would be better to pull the audio stream from the digital mixer, equalize it and stream it directly.  If analog, pull the signal off the pre-amp output of the mixing board into a sound card (Like the Soundblaster Audigy 2), digitize it, turn it into a stream and send it that way.  Taking it from FM and putting it back into a stream-worthy format will introduce too much fidelity loss if the programming is musical or theatrical in any way.
