contacts not in gal

fairly new install of exchange 2010
i added 3 contacts into active directory... on  a domain controller... (not the actual exchange server)
they have had time to show up.  added them a week ago.   i have also sent received my the address book from outlook.
they still arent there.
the old contacts from the previous exchange environment are there...
just none of the new users i have added.
any ideas?

update your offline address book in Exchange and in Outlook
