Hello people!

I have some servers located in a facility with AC that fails often. They a smart UPS there, but it isn't enough.

Can anyone point me how to use a power generator? They aren't expensive, and my idea is that i just instruct someone to connect UPS to it when power goes down. As it is Smart UPS I can set the sensitivity to low, but I still don't know would it work. So, - would it work? :-)

the best option would be a Geerator with ATS connected alongside a 5kva UPS, this will assure that there is NO downtime as when the power gets cut the ups will sustain the power untill the Generator kicks in (+- 30seconds)

the ATS gets connected directly to the MAINS so when it looses power it starts the Generator Automatically and when the MAIN power returns the Generator turns off again

Thanks, does that mean I could use my current UPS connected to it?
Also - can you point me to some ATS manufacturer?

Yes you can use your current UPS

Also most of the Generators these days have ATS all you need to do is tell the dealer what you need and he will assist you accordingly
