New Database Driven Website

Hello, I have some questions about creating a new website. I would like to create a new database driven website using SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2010. I am not sure if I need web development software or not. Do I need something like wordpress to design and publish the website or can I do that from Visual Studio 2010. Any other suggestions on what I should I use is appreciated.

You can build/write a website using notepad if you know how to code.

I would suggest Dreamweaver if your looking for software to assist you in building a site, however you will still need to know some programming language such as PERL or PHP to connect to the database as basic HTML does not do so.

There are many tutorials on how to connect to a database.

Using a CMS ( Content Management System ) such as wordpress may be an easier option for you since its pretty much already built and you can just download different skins.  All you need to do is enter the content and it gets stored in your database.
