I'm installing a MediaWiki.<br />

The Wiki setup can't connect to the DB (on a remote system. The error is:<br />
<br />
Attempting to connect to database server as root...failed with error [1130] Host 'appserver' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server.<br />
<br />
<br />
I have run the oft-quoted command:<br />
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO root@'mysqlhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';<br />
<br />
But to no effect. Can anyone advise?<br />
