Hi all,

I have a table in Oracle  with columns like this

Location,
Time,
error code 1
error code 2
error code 3
...
Error code 15.

columns error codes 1 .. 15 etc show  counts for particular error code. I want to be able to
sort the columns grouped by location and time.

for example data might be like this

location 1 , Feb 1 2011, 10,20,30 etc etc
locatin2    , feb 2 2011, 20,30,40 etc etc

I want to be able to sort them descending
for example

Location 1
        feb   1 2011     30    //error code three  description...
         feb   1 2011     20    // Error code 2  descriptionl...
         feb    1 2011    10   // Error Code 1

Is there a way to sort columns for a date   in crystal reports?

Not really with the data you have

You could put the fields into an array and sort them then print them line by line.

Another idea would be to  use a command to select each field in turn and union the results

Select Location, Date, COlumn1 FROM table
UNION
Select Location, Date, COlumn2 FROM table
UNION
Select Location, Date, COlumn3 FROM table
etc

You can then group by location then date and sort by the column value
