I think I may need some more help using firebug effectively to hunt down the CSS differences between the two pages. Any help there? I mean, apart from reading the help files?

Winmerge is also an editor so it will help you make the files the same while it compares them for you. It is the tool for the job.

Over on the right hand side...some of the CSS styling has a line through it. What does that mean?
The 'line through' means some other CSS has overridden that line. The last statement encountered in your file is the one that takes effect. If you declare "font-family: Arial;" in the body and then for a particular tag redefine is as "font-family: Times;", then the first declaration will have a line thru it when you look at that tag.

Okay....THAT is way cool.
Is there a way I can tell WHAT is trying to use a particular .js file?
For example, globalscripts.js is now a deprecated script file, nothing uses it, but firebug is still picking it up as a "missing" script.

If 'nothing' uses "globalscripts.js", then get rid of the link so you don't accidentally get conflicts... though that may have been one of the 404's I saw also which is another reason to delete the link. There were a couple of GIF's missing on both sites.
