HP computer stopped working.

No video on start up, no beeping errors(no sound), no lights on keyboard, no POST/BIOS/CMOS messages on start up. Unable to boot access CMOS/BIOS.

Do have power to fans, hard drive, CD/DVD drives doors will open and light to power switch and mouse.

Have tried with different monitor, video cable and keyboard. Have removed graphics card and connected to motherboard VGA adapter with no success.

What else can we try?

Could be a bad motherboard. Do you have another for testing?

Try pulling out the memory and see if you get any beep codes.

It might be the motherboard but it could just as well be the power supply.

All,

No motherboard to change out. Will try switching power supply and removing memory.

Nobus,

We had most of those but replaced the motherboard which we do not have. We are sending the machine to the repair shop for the final verdict which probably be a failed motherboard.

Shop found two bad capacitors - no burn marks just slightly larger than the others.
