Mail For exchange problem syncing from exchange server 2003

Hi Guys,

Just a quick one, We have users on our network that get mail direct to their phone using mail for exchange.

Now everyone works fine except one user who either intermittently gets email every 4 days or so or doesn't receive mail at all!  The phone does the initial sync fine works for a few hours then nothing... have also changed phone with no prevail.

No problems just added the key to the registry I will schedule a reboot of this server and let you know the results tomorrow!

If it is just the one user and the rest are fine - is Mail For Exchange on the latest version on their Nokia?

No problems!

Yeah I updated the MFE software when we purchased the new Nokia C6. I even updated the Nokia firmware so not sure very strange one!!

Good - should rule the handset out!  Do you have any other C6 phones and are they giving the same problems?

What Anti-Virus software have you got installed?

Nope we have a few guys with a C6 and no problems at all!

We are using Sophos Antivirus??

Okay - if you have other C6 phones and only one is having problems - that sounds either like a mailbox issue or a device issue.

Can you configure a working account on the problem users phone and the problem users account on another similar device?

That should help pinpoint the issue.

Hi Alan,

Yeah i tried that and it works that why i was thinking it may be a mailbox issue? I will try the restart tonight after adding the key to the registry and if that doesn't work i may have to make the user a new mailbox and AD account...

You can try to repair, defragment and integrity check the store - but that means downtime.

eseutil /p (to repair)

eseutil /d (to defragment) followed by

isinteg -s servername -fix -test alltests

Run isinteg as many times as it takes to see 0 errors and 0 fixes in the last line of output.

Alternatively, export the mailbox, splat the account, create a new one and import the mail back, then sync again.
