I have a root site and 2 subsites one for dutch and one for french

Content types are created on the site colleciton level

However lists are created on the dutch level.

I hit save template on each list, but when I go to the french site to create the same lists, obviously the template are not in that subsite.

What can I do? I need to replicate the lists structure from the dutch subsite to the french subsite.

Thank you

Templates just get added as list items in the templates list. Can't you just add the templates to the other site? Also make sure the templates are allowed in the other sites settings.

I see the list templates there, but all for dutch, I still need to make them available for the french site, I thought stp files were xml but its binary, so I cant do anything with it

and this list seems to be at the site collection level, I thought it was at the subsite level

I still need help to make the list template available for the french site

It should be available if it's in there. I guess it's the language value that is stopping it.

The stp file is actually a cabinet file. If you rename it to .cab you can extract the contents, which is a manifest.xml file. In there there is the language setting. You could change the XML to your new language. Then you need something to turn the file back into a Cabinet file, rename to .stp, and upload to the list.

There are a few cabinet file makers around on the web. Try codeplex or download.com
