IE Proxy exceptions maximum

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. We have a GPO with quite a few exceptions added to the "bypass proxy server" However there is a limit of 259 characters for this field. Any ideas how to extend this limit to allow me to add more addresses/characters. Is it an IE limitation or GPO (we currently have a native server 2003 Enterprise environment, going up to Server 2008 imminantly) Any help would/pointers would be gretaly appreciated.
