I have a Synology DS409slim NAS server. I would like the server to make a nightly backup of the changed files to a remote ftp server. Also I would like the backup process to stop at a certain time no matter if the process is finished or not.

I have installed ipkg and lftp.

How do I do that?

I don't think what you are wanting to do will work. The DS409 is designed to backup to a local USB drive. Also, there isn't a way, to my knowledge, to get FTP to copy only changed files to a remote location. You need something more like a sync. Second Copy is an example of something that would work: http://www.secondcopy.com/
