VMWare HA Testing

Hello Experts,

I have successfully tested several LiveMigrations in Hyper-V using MS clustering and CSV. I would like to test the equivalent in VMWare. Is this called VMotion? Also, where can I get trial software and a guide for building a test lab?

Thanks.

Here is a link to Adm Guides:
http://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/vs_pages/vsp_pubs_esxi41_i_vc41.html, under the Guides and Papers tab

Specifically, take note of Availability Guide (HA), DC and VM Adm Guides, and ESXi Config Guide.

Here you can download:
http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/datacenter_downloads/vmware_vsphere_4/4_0. You just need email addy and pwd. You can trial it for 60 days. Verify your host in on the Compat Guide list:
http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

BTW...live migration is indeed VMotion in VMware. :)

Oh, forgot to mention as well - your host has to support 64bit, and CPU must have virtual technology capability to install 64bit VMs (Intel-VT or AMD-V).
