Adding a video title image

When I insert a .flv with Dreamweaver CS4 I don't see a way to specify an image to display over the player until the user selects the play button to start the video.  What I see is the first frame of the video.   Is there a way to overlay another image until the video is started?  I've tried giving the div that contains the player a background image, but the first frame of the video still shows instead.

Thanks for any ideas.

Hi steva,

There's no way to do it with the DW built-in Flash player skins.  You would have to switch to another media player that supports a default image, like the JW Media Player (http://www.longtailvideo.com)

Jason,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm open to using JW, but don't know much about it.  It seems to be free.  Is that right?  Is there a wizard that builds the HTML  to embed it?  Is it a good match for SWFObject 2? How does it compare with lthe DW player?

Thanks for any more you can tell me about it . . .

All of these answers are available on the site I linked to.

It's free for personal and non-profit sites, otherwise you pay a very small fee for licensing.

There is a wizard that helps build the javascript parameters on their site.

I have no idea which version of swfobject they are using currently but it should be trivial for you to find out.

It is far superior in performance and features to the built-in stuff.
