- makes backup based on the settings and time
- makes backup file which is encoded
- uploads the backup file to predifined location / server on internet over secure login

Amanda is the biggest and bestest one out there and is well established and supported on numerous operating systems.   However, it may or may not be suitable.   You did not mention the things that can be used to eliminate products, and/or make some products unsuitable.   These items below are just a few off top of my head. The various online backup vendors will support all, noe, or some of these requirements.

I suggest you spend less time worrying about choosing a vendor and more about putting together a spreadsheet of requirements and rate them as must-have, nice-to-have, ,required, and don'care

 * VSS support (so you can do hot backup of exchange, SQL server, etc ...)
 * Automatic encryption, compression
 * Can they ship you an emergency disk with all 500+  GB worth of online data you backed up?  Otherwise recovery may take a week or more just to download the data.
* Will it backup VXDs  (virtual machine file images)
 * How does it prevent
 * what about raw images, or partitions in disks?
 * can you restore single file, permissions, directory, partition, et?
* what is process to do a disaster recovery if the preplacement system is different make/mode? Does their software handle this?
what about bootable backups/reoveries?
Can you restore/backup in batch with full control?
Can you restore to different place then where it was backed up?
