Data Binding In InfoPath Form

I am new to Infopath Forms.
I have 3 requirements 1. Need to start the form from SQL databse date field and send as email attachment. The completed form will point to document library in SharePoint.
2. I need to databind the Name and address fields to SQL database.
both select and then 3. update to the SQL database from the form.

Can someone help me with this.

Not sure if I completely understand but I will walk through a common scenario.

Assume users have InfoPath client.

Create a form template based on a SQL database table.
It should both receive and submit data.

You can then query and update or even insert data into your SQL table.

You can also create additional data connections to submit to email and to SharePoint.

I caution the email and sharepoint since there is a potential that the data in the form can get stale or out of sync with the master database.

I always make the form query or refresh the data from SQL each time so that the user always gets the latest data for the record.

So I only send a hyperlink to a new form and they query the record they want. Same with SharePoint I do not save the xml files I just update the database and have them open a new record each time.

Hope that helps.

Not sure what you are trying to do and where the date comes in.

Are you using a database or a SP list?

SharePoint has no requirement to host the form. I would recommend you create the library has you publish rather than creating one before hand.

I am sorry but I still do not understand what you are trying to do.

You have a form and you want to view list data or update list data?

To edit list data, with 2007 requires a CAML file which there are multiple posts on www.infopathdev.com.
